Seiken Densetsu 3 came out in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by Square. The game expanded on the ideas of its predecessor, Secret of Mana, with a bigger world and more intricate mechanics.
You choose three characters from a group of six, each with their own story and reasons for journeying across the world. You explore towns, talk to people, and venture into forests, caves, and castles, fighting monsters in real-time combat. Your party members can use swords, spears, claws, or magic, and you can switch control between them at any time. About halfway through, each character can change into a more advanced class, gaining new abilities and changing how they fight. The game moves at a steady pace, though some boss fights demand careful strategy. It feels like a grand, personal adventure where your choices shape the journey.
