You control a swordsman who explores levels, fights monsters, and collects items to progress. The main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess by navigating through side-scrolling stages and defeating bosses. The key mechanics are your standard sword combat, screen-by-screen progression, and the ability to transform into a dragon after collecting enough power-ups; the dragon form lets you breathe fire and fly for a short time. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty is fairly high, with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn.
