Senjou no Ookami, known in the West as Guerrilla War, came out on the NES in 1986 from SNK. You control a soldier who moves in eight directions, firing a machine gun that never needs reloading. Key mechanics include using limited grenades to clear dense crowds and driving tanks for brief periods of increased firepower.
