Play Shamus Online
Guide Shamus through a maze, shoot enemies, collect keys, and avoid traps while hunting down the master robot in this tense dungeon crawler.
Shamus came out for the Game Boy Color in 1992, published by Atari Corporation. It was a time when handheld games were often ports or scaled down versions of bigger ideas, and this one fit right in. You don't see many people talk about it now, but back then it was just another title you might pick up if you liked maze games with a bit of action.
You control a small robot bounty hunter named Shamus, moving screen by screen through a sprawling dungeon. Your goal is to find and destroy the master robot hidden somewhere in the maze. You shoot enemies with a limited range laser, collect keys to open doors, and avoid hazards like electric walls. The pacing is tense; enemies respawn if you leave a room, and a shadow enemy occasionally appears to hunt you down. It feels methodical and sometimes unforgiving, like a careful puzzle where one wrong move can cost you. Playing it is a mix of cautious exploration and quick reactions.
