Play Shaq Fu on GB Online

You play as Shaq in a weird fighting game where his giant sprite covers half the screen—janky jumps, stiff blocks, and all. It’s bizarrely charming in that "why does this exist?" way.

Game Overview

Shaq Fu on Game Boy came out in 1995 from Delphine Software, a time when licensed games were everywhere and often felt rushed. It was a strange, unexpected side project that stood out even then, not for polish but for its sheer oddness.

You control Shaq, a massive sprite who moves through side scrolling stages, punching and kicking a stream of strange enemies. The goal is to rescue a boy by fighting through different levels, using basic combos and a clumsy jump to get by. The hit detection is unreliable, the platforming is awkward, and the enemies respawn quickly, making progress feel more like stubborn persistence than skill. It feels like wrestling with the hardware itself just to finish a stage.
