Game Overview

Shikakui Atama wo Marukusuru Advance - Kanji Keisan is one of those GBA games you stumble upon and suddenly lose an hour to without realizing it. At first glance, it’s just kanji matching and quick math problems—but then the timer starts ticking, and suddenly you’re fully invested in beating your own high score.

It’s got that same satisfying bite-sized puzzle vibe as Brain Age, but with a distinctly Japanese flavor. The kanji exercises sneak in little vocabulary lessons, and the math problems escalate just fast enough to keep you on your toes. I kept telling myself I’d stop after one round, only to get pulled into "okay, maybe just one more try."

If you’ve got a soft spot for retro handheld games or want something to sharpen your Japanese while killing time, this one’s weirdly hard to put down. The pixelated menus and chiptune soundtrack don’t hurt either.
