Game Overview

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Aka no Sho is one of those weird little Game Boy Color RPGs that somehow makes demon negotiation feel charming. You start off in this bright, almost cartoonish version of Tokyo—until, of course, things go sideways and you're recruiting monsters to fight for you. The demons here have way more attitude than your average Pokémon, and half the fun is figuring out which ones actually want to cooperate instead of just attacking you on sight.

Combat's straightforward but satisfying, with just enough of that SMT fusion system to keep things interesting without overwhelming you. I remember spending way too much time trying to fuse the perfect team, only to realize my fire-breathing turtle demon wasn't actually helping against ice enemies. The music's got that classic late-90s synth vibe, and the monster designs? Somehow both creepy and adorable at the same time.

It's basically Pokémon if the creatures occasionally sassed you and the world had a faint layer of urban legends lurking under the surface. Still holds up if you're into retro monster collectors with personality.
