Play Shin Megami Tensei - Strange Journey Online
Creepy first-person dungeon crawling where you talk (or shoot) demons into joining your team, then mash them together into freakier monsters. The whole place feels like a dying spaceship that really wants you dead.

Game Overview
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey throws you into a bleak sci-fi nightmare—somewhere between The Thing and classic dungeon crawling. A black hole rips open at the South Pole, and of course, the UN sends you in to poke around. Bad idea. Inside, it’s all rusted metal corridors, eerie static on your comms, and demons that’ll try to bargain with you before tearing your face off.
This one feels like a throwback to the old-school SMT games—first-person grid movement, punishing difficulty, and that signature demon negotiation system where you bribe, flatter, or threaten monsters into joining your squad. Fusing them into weirder, stronger abominations never gets old. And yeah, you get guns alongside spells, because nothing says "holy mission" like unloading a pistol into a pixie.
What stuck with me was the atmosphere. The Schwarzwelt isn’t just a dungeon—it’s a rotting, sentient labyrinth that hates you. The music’s all industrial groaning, your teammates slowly lose their minds, and every sector has its own twisted theme (one’s a literal warzone where angels and demons blast each other with artillery). If you miss when Megaten was more about creeping dread than anime tropes, this is your fix.
Just don’t expect hand-holding. That first boss will wreck you until you figure out how to exploit elemental weaknesses.
