The gameplay pivots between standard side-scrolling brawling and sudden, strategic turn-based command fights against larger groups. Later, you even commandeer a motorcycle for a frantic, obstacle-dodging shooting sequence. The pacing is uneven, sometimes brutally difficult, but the sheer variety of actions keeps you engaged.
