Shooting Arcade is one of those weird little Atari 2600 gems that makes you go, "Wait, this actually works?" You grab the chunky light gun (which feels more like a toy ray gun than anything else) and blast away at these blocky moving targets. The graphics are about what you'd expect from late-era Atari—simple but somehow charming in their jagged way.

What surprised me was how responsive it feels. You'd think the old light gun tech would be finicky, but lining up shots on those bouncing squares and triangles just clicks after a few tries. There's something satisfying about the instant "pew!" sound when you hit a target—no frills, just pure arcade feedback.

It's definitely a product of its time—don't expect deep mechanics or variety—but as a quick 10-minute time-waster or a novelty for showing off the 2600's quirks, it holds up better than most light gun games from that era. Just don't sit too close to the CRT, or the gun won't register your shots properly.
