Game Overview

Short Order Eggplode came out for the NES in 1989, published by Nintendo. It was part of that era where developers were experimenting with the console's hardware, sometimes in ways that required extra peripherals. This one needed the Power Pad, that big floor mat controller, which made it a pretty unique entry in the library.

You control a chef who has to complete two frantic tasks. First, you stomp on the Power Pad's buttons to defuse bombs that a fox has planted under chickens; it's pure, stressful speed. Then, you have to memorize and assemble massive multi-layered burger orders for a parade of animal customers, testing your memory under a strict timer. The game is brutally difficult, shifting from a physical test to a mental one without pause. It feels like being thrown into a chaotic kitchen where everything is on fire and you're the only one who can put it out.
