Play Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (E) Online
Build an empire from scratch on your DS—research tech, grow cities, and outmaneuver backstabbing world leaders between bus rides. Gandhi might smile, but he’ll nuke you over spices.

I picked up Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution on the Nintendo DS back in 2008, a portable version of the strategy series from Firaxis Games. It was a solid attempt to fit a sprawling empire-building game onto the small screen during a time when the DS was full of unique, touch-driven experiences.
You control a civilization from the ancient era, guiding its growth through research, city management, and military expansion. The main goal is to achieve one of several victory conditions, like conquering all rival capitals or being the first to launch a spaceship. Key mechanics include exploring the map tile by tile with scouts, negotiating with other leaders for resources or alliances, and engaging in turn-based combat with units like archers and tanks. The pacing is brisk for a Civ game, making a full campaign feasible in a single sitting, though the AI can be aggressively opportunistic. It feels satisfying to watch your carefully planned decisions slowly shape the course of history right in your hands.
