Play Slicks n' Slide Online
Tiny cars, UFOs, tanks—pick your ride and try not to spin out on these ridiculous twisty tracks while your friends elbow you for keyboard space. Later versions let you blast each other mid-slide, because chaos is the whole point.

I first played Slicks n' Slide back in 1998 when it came out as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from Digital Software. It was one of those local multiplayer racers that felt perfectly at home on the platform, a straightforward game built for quick sessions with friends crowded around one keyboard. There was no grand pretense to it, just a focus on tight, slippery driving and causing as much mayhem as possible before someone’s mom called them home for dinner.
You control a small vehicle—options include a car, a UFO, or a tank—and your goal is simply to outlast everyone else on twisting, gravity-defying tracks. The core mechanics are all about managing momentum and intentional drifting; you steer into slides to maintain speed, but overdo it and you’ll spin out completely. Later levels introduce weapons, letting you fire shots at opponents mid-corner to ruin their line. The pace is fast and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially when tracks loop upside down or narrow to a single lane. It feels frantic and unpredictable, like trying to steer on ice while someone is throwing rocks at your tires.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
