Play SMPRGRevolutionV1.1a Online
Your party actually gets bored if you spam the same attacks—enemies start dodging, and suddenly you're scrambling to mix things up. That bassline in the dungeon theme still pops into my head at random.

SMPRGRevolutionV1.1a is one of those SNES RPGs that somehow slipped under the radar—which is a shame, because it nails that classic 16-bit vibe while doing its own weird thing. The first time I booted it up, I expected another generic fantasy grind, but then my party’s morale started tanking mid-battle because I kept using the same boring attacks, and suddenly enemies were dodging everything. Whoops.
The pixel art’s gorgeous, especially the spell effects—little details like fire magic leaving behind charred tiles for a few seconds made me stop and just admire it. And the soundtrack? There’s this one dungeon theme with a bassline that somehow lives in my head rent-free now.
It’s got that old-school charm where you’ll spend 20 minutes debating whether to upgrade your thief’s lockpicks or your mage’s staff, but then some absurd side quest about delivering cabbages spirals into a whole political subplot. If you’ve got a soft spot for SNES-era RPGs but wish they’d take more risks, this one’s worth digging up.
