Speedy Gonzales in Los Gatos Bandidos is one of those SNES games that feels like Sonic if he traded his sneakers for a sombrero. You play as the fastest mouse in Mexico, dashing through colorful Mexican villages and deserts to rescue your kidnapped mouse pals from a gang of cartoonishly mean cats.
The controls are simple—you mostly just run (fast, obviously), jump, and occasionally kick enemies. But the levels have this nice flow to them, with slopes, tunnels, and even little trampoline-like mousetraps that send you flying. There’s cheese to grab, hazards to avoid, and mice to free—though sometimes you’ll miss one because Speedy moves so quick you’ll zip right past them.
