Speedy Gonzales on the Game Boy came out in 1993, developed by Sunsoft. It was one of those many platformers that filled the handheld's library, a time when licensed games based on cartoons were common, and this one tried to capture the energy of the Warner Bros. character.

You control Speedy, the fastest mouse in all Mexico, through a series of side scrolling levels. Your main goal is to rescue your mouse friends from cages scattered in each stage. You run, jump on enemies, and collect cheese for points. The signature mechanics include bouncing off special bumpers to reach high platforms and using your speed to outrun enemies or cross gaps. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with instant death pits and tricky enemy placements. It feels frantic and a little slippery, demanding quick reflexes to make it through.
