I picked up Speedy Gonzales: Aztec Adventure for the Game Boy Color back in 2000, a Kemco release that fit right in with the platform's library of action platformers. It wasn't a standout hit, but it was one of those solid, straightforward games you'd play on a long car ride, with colorful graphics and that familiar Looney Tunes charm.

You control Speedy Gonzales, the fastest mouse in Mexico, as he dashes through Aztec-inspired temples, jungles, and caves. The main goal is to rescue your mouse friends from Sylvester the cat and his gang of thugs. You move screen by screen, using your speed to avoid enemies and traps, and you can collect and throw smoke bombs to stun foes or break certain blocks. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike in later levels, especially with some tricky platforming sections. It feels like a fast, lighthearted scramble where your reflexes matter more than complex strategy.
