Spy Hunter on GBA is a solid adaptation of the arcade classic, though it feels a bit stripped down. The first mission throws you right into the action - you're weaving through traffic, dodging enemy fire, and trying to hit those Satcom markers before time runs out. The controls take some getting used to, especially when switching weapons on the fly.
What surprised me was how much strategy is involved. You can't just blast everything - some missions penalize you for hitting civilians, others require careful timing for jumps. The weapon van still appears like in the original, but finding it feels more urgent with the mission clock ticking down.
The chicken mode is as ridiculous as it sounds, but weirdly addictive. Spy Hunter isn't perfect - the graphics are rough even for GBA - but it captures that arcade chase feeling better than I expected.
