Game Overview

Squirmer is one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases from the early 1990s, a simple but clever maze game that feels right at home on the platform. It was developed by a small team, and it captures that era's spirit of straightforward, challenging gameplay without a lot of frills. You control a worm, navigating through a series of single-screen levels, each one a tight puzzle of timing and movement.

You guide your worm through narrow passages, avoiding enemies and collecting items to open the exit. The key mechanics involve your worm's segmented body, which grows longer as you progress, making navigation in tight spaces a real test of planning. Enemies patrol set paths, and since your worm moves one segment at a time, turning requires careful forethought to avoid getting trapped or colliding. The pacing starts deceptively easy but ramps up quickly, demanding precise inputs and good spatial awareness. It feels tense and satisfying when you finally thread your way through a particularly crowded screen.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
