Star Wars Episode I: Obi-Wan's Adventures came out in 2001 for the Game Boy Color, developed by HotGen and published by THQ. It was one of many handheld tie-ins to the prequel films, a time when small, portable action games often tried to capture the feel of bigger adventures with limited hardware.
You control Obi-Wan Kenobi through a series of side-scrolling levels set during the events of The Phantom Menace. Your main goal is to fight through waves of battle droids, navigate environmental hazards, and eventually confront Darth Maul. Signature mechanics include deflecting blaster bolts back at enemies with your lightsaber and using the Force to push opponents off platforms or activate switches. The game moves at a brisk pace, though some sections can feel repetitive, and the difficulty spikes noticeably during boss fights. It feels satisfying to land a perfect deflection or clear a crowded screen, even with the hardware's constraints.
