Stone Protectors on SNES is one of those weird, chaotic side-scrollers where a rock band gets turned into goblin warriors—because of course they do. You pick between four band members (each with their own weird weapon, like a bazooka or a giant hammer) and bash through levels full of lizard men trying to steal magic crystals. The story makes zero sense, but who cares when you’re chucking grenades at dinosaur soldiers?
The controls are a little stiff, and some characters feel way stronger than others (I stuck with the guy who could shoot fireballs). But there’s something oddly satisfying about the sheer absurdity of it all—especially when you realize the final boss is basically a giant floating head. If you like ‘90s beat-’em-ups with bizarre plots, this one’s a trip.
