Game Overview

Ever been stranded on a tropical island with nothing but your wits and a Game Boy Color? Stranded Kids (or Survival Kids if you're stateside) throws you into exactly that scenario—shipwrecked, hungry, and surrounded by suspiciously aggressive wildlife. The first time I played, I wasted half a day trying to punch coconuts out of trees before realizing I needed to craft a stupid stick. Lesson learned.

What’s cool is how much your decisions stick. Build a hut near the river for easy water, but risk midnight panther visits. Spend too long exploring caves, and you might collapse from exhaustion before dinner. And yeah, you can totally tame some of the animals, though my first "pet" was a raccoon that stole all my berries and ran off. Rude.

The pixel art’s got that perfect GBC charm—lush greens, moody caves, and a day-night cycle that actually makes you nervous when the screen starts dimming. Found myself hoarding torches like a paranoid gremlin by day three. Multiple endings mean you’ll probably replay it just to see what happens if you, say, ignore the weird ruins or befriend the wrong critter. Fair warning: the island’s secrets get addictive. I still think about that one ending where you… actually, no spoilers.

If you like survival games but miss the days when they fit in your back pocket, this one’s a time capsule worth cracking open.
