Play Street Combat Online

Pick Steven (dark or slightly darker) and mash through a janky street brawl where every fighter looks confused. Special moves kinda work, but you’ll mostly just elbow-drop your friend in 2-player mode.

Game Overview

Street Combat came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Irem. It was one of those early fighting games that tried to grab a piece of the genre's popularity, but it never really stood out among the heavy hitters on the system. You pick a fighter and just start swinging, trying to knock the other guy out before he does the same to you.

You control one of several martial artists, each with a basic set of punches, kicks, and a special move or two. The main goal is simple: reduce your opponent's health bar to zero before they do it to you. The fighting feels stiff, with characters that don't move very fluidly, and pulling off special moves can be more trouble than it's worth. Matches often devolve into frantic button mashing, especially in two-player mode where you're just trying to land anything that works. It's a clumsy, forgettable brawler that makes you appreciate the polish of its competitors.
