Play Street Fighter Alpha - Warriors' Dreams (Japan) Online

Tiny Ryu throws pixelated fireballs while Chun-Li's kicks somehow still feel snappy—it's ridiculous this even runs on a Game Boy. That screechy psycho crusher sound will haunt your dreams.

Game Overview

I picked up Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams for the Game Boy Color back in 1999, a port handled by Crawfish and published by Capcom. It was a time when handheld fighters were rare, and seeing a proper Street Fighter game on a system that small felt like a minor miracle. The hardware limitations were obvious, but it was still Street Fighter, and that was enough.

You choose from a small roster of fighters, including Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li, and battle through a series of opponents to reach the final boss. The game incorporates the Alpha series' signature mechanics, like Alpha Counters and custom combos, though simplified for the hardware. Matches are fast, and the AI can be surprisingly aggressive, even on standard difficulty. It feels rough around the edges, but landing a super combo on that tiny screen never gets old.
