Play Sugoi Hebereke Online
Choose a quirky character and battle through zany stages, knocking opponents off-screen and turning them into Popoons while dodging chaos and grabbing wild items.
Sugoi Hebereke came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Sunsoft. It was part of that era where Japanese developers were experimenting with quirky, character-driven games that didn't always fit neatly into established genres. You don't see many games like it, even now.
You pick one of four oddball characters, like the sunglasses-wearing ghost O-Chan or the sword-swinging penguin Hebe, and fight through small, single-screen stages. The goal is to knock your opponents off the screen or drain their health, turning them into helpless, waddling blobs called Popoons that you can then toss around. Items drop in constantly, from bombs to giant mallets, and non-playable characters wander through the arenas, adding to the unpredictable chaos. Matches are fast and silly, with a difficulty that spikes when the AI gangs up on you. It feels like being in a cartoon bar fight where anything can happen.
