Play Super Battleship on Snes Online
You place ships, take shots, and feel that little jolt of satisfaction when your torpedo finally connects—especially with the screen shake and punchy sound effects. The AI gets crafty later on, and versus mode turns into this slow-burn battle of nerves.

Super Battleship came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Mindscape. It was part of that wave of board game adaptations on the system, sitting right alongside other strategy and puzzle titles. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a solid digital version of the familiar naval combat game.
You control the entire fleet, first placing your five ships on a grid, hiding them from the enemy. The main objective is to hunt down and sink all of your opponent's ships before they sink yours. The core mechanics are calling out grid coordinates to fire shots and tracking hits and misses on your own radar screen. The pacing is methodical, a real test of memory and prediction, especially against the computer which becomes quite shrewd on higher difficulties. It feels like a tense, quiet game of chess played with explosions.
