Super Famista 4 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed and published by Namco. It was part of a long running baseball series in Japan, and this entry arrived late in the SNES lifecycle when developers were really squeezing everything they could out of the hardware.
You control a full baseball team, pitching, batting, and fielding your way through a full game. The main goal is to win, of course, either in a single exhibition match or through a full tournament. The game is known for its fast pitching and batting mechanics; you have to time your swings carefully against a variety of pitches. Fielding is largely automated, letting you focus on the action at the plate. It plays at a brisk pace, and the difficulty feels fair, challenging you without being cheap. It just feels good to connect with a pitch and watch the ball sail.
