Timing reversals feels just right in this SNES gem—chain suplexes into pins while joshi wrestlers move faster than the usual hulking roster. The AI punishes button mashers, but nailing a combo is pure 16-bit satisfaction.

Game Overview

Super Fire Pro Wrestling - Queen's Special is that rare SNES wrestling game where the women steal the show. I stumbled onto this years ago and was surprised how fluid the grappling felt—none of that clunky, stiff animation you’d expect from a '90s wrestling sim. The reversals actually work when you time them right, and there’s something deeply satisfying about chaining a German suplex into a pin.

What hooked me was the roster. Instead of the usual hulking giants, you’ve got these lightning-fast joshi wrestlers pulling off moves that look like they’d snap a normal person in half. The sprites have way more personality than they should for 16-bit, especially when someone’s getting tossed out of the ring. Just don’t expect mercy—the AI will absolutely wreck you if you button mash.

Phil’s English patch makes it way easier to navigate, though half the fun is figuring out what half the menu options do through trial and error. If you’ve ever wanted to powerbomb someone onto pixelated concrete, this is your chance.
