Game Overview

Super International Cricket came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Beam Software. It was one of the better cricket games available on the system at the time, offering a solid interpretation of the sport without a lot of the graphical flair seen in other SNES titles.

You control a team of eleven players, taking turns batting and bowling in an effort to outscore the opponent. The batting involves timing your swing to hit the ball into gaps, while bowling requires you to set a delivery type, aim, and then time the release. The fielding is mostly automated, though you can attempt to manually position fielders between overs. The game moves at a decent pace, and the difficulty feels fair, though the limited commentary can become repetitive. It feels satisfying to successfully defend a low total or to chase down a target with a well-timed six.
