Super SWIV came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed by Toaplan. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that tried to bring a solid arcade experience home, focusing on straightforward action without a lot of extra fluff. You control either a jeep that moves along the ground or a helicopter that flies, and you can switch between them during a mission when the situation calls for it. The main goal is to survive each stage, destroying enemy vehicles, turrets, and aircraft while protecting a convoy that advances slowly behind you. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups to enhance your weapons, managing a limited supply of smart bombs for clearing the screen, and navigating multi-directional enemy fire. The pacing is relentless; enemies attack from all sides, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and constant movement.
