Superman on the Amiga is one of those licensed games that actually tries something different. You're not just punching bad guys in a side-scroller—there’s a mix of 3D flying (which feels surprisingly smooth for the time), top-down sections, and classic side-scrolling action. The comic book panels between levels give it that extra DC Comics flavor, like you’re flipping through an issue between fights.
You’ve got four powers—heat vision, super breath, freeze breath, and super strength—but they drain fast, so you can’t just spam them. Running out of energy mid-fight while Darkseid’s goons swarm you is… not ideal. And yeah, bumping into enemies hurts, so dodging matters more than you’d expect for the Man of Steel. The scoreboard’s there if you care about bragging rights, but honestly, just making it past Lex Luthor’s traps feels like victory enough.
It’s janky in places, but there’s charm in how ambitious it was for its time.
