Game Overview

Supreme Snowboarding came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by HotGen and published by Infogrames. It was one of the few snowboarding titles on the handheld, arriving at a time when portable sports games were often simplified but still tried to capture the feel of their console counterparts. The game offered a straightforward take on the sport without much frill, fitting right into the pocket-sized action genre of its day.

You control a snowboarder racing down one of three mountain courses, trying to beat par times or compete in trick competitions. The main objective is to complete each run as fast as possible while pulling off grabs, spins, and flips to boost your score. Signature mechanics include timing your jumps off ramps to execute tricks, managing your balance to avoid wiping out on landings, and choosing optimal paths to shave seconds off your time. The pacing is quick, and the physics demand precision; mistiming a trick often sends you tumbling. It feels responsive and challenging, especially when you finally chain together a clean run full of big air and smooth carves.
