Surround is one of those classic Atari 2600 games that’s way more intense than it looks. You and a friend each control a moving line—like a snake, but without the eating part—and try to box each other in. The controls are dead simple, but the mind games get real when you’re trying to predict where the other player will turn next.

There’s a weirdly satisfying crunch sound when someone crashes, and the first to ten wins. The variations are where it gets fun: turn on diagonal movement, and suddenly the whole screen becomes a chaotic maze. Or slow the speed way down for some tense, chess-like maneuvering. And yeah, there’s a graffiti mode too, but let’s be honest—you’ll spend most of your time trying to out-trap each other.
