I picked up Suzuki Alstare Extreme for the Game Boy Color back in 1999, a racing game published by Ubi Soft. It was one of those late-era releases that tried to push the hardware a bit further, focusing on speed and handling rather than elaborate graphics. At the time, portable racing games were either top-down or very simple, so this one stood out for its attempt at a more realistic perspective.
You control a Suzuki motorcycle, weaving through traffic on winding tracks, trying to finish each race in the top three. The game uses a behind-the-bike view, and you lean into turns by tapping the directional pad while managing your speed to avoid skidding. Races are short but demanding; one mistake can cost you several positions, and the traffic comes at you fast. It feels surprisingly quick for a Game Boy Color game, and nailing a perfect turn without scraping the barriers is genuinely satisfying.
