Game Overview
Synthcart is one of those weird, wonderful projects that makes you go, "Wait, the Atari 2600 can do that?" It turns your old console into a chiptune synth—just plug in a joystick, flick some switches, and suddenly you're making bleeps and bloops that sound straight out of an '80s arcade. The controls are simple but surprisingly deep once you start tweaking them.
It’s not really a game, more like a toy for messing around with sounds. I spent way too long just twisting the joystick to see how the pitch wobbled. If you’re into retro hardware or weird music tools, this is a neat little piece of history. Paul Slocum basically hacked the Atari into something it was never meant to be, and that’s kind of amazing.
