Tecmo Super Baseball is one of those mid-90s sports games that somehow nails the vibe of actual baseball without getting bogged down in realism. You've got the full MLBPA roster (well, as of 1994 anyway), so all the big names are here—just don't expect perfect stats or lifelike animations. The pitching feels surprisingly tactical once you get the hang of mixing fastballs with off-speed stuff, and there's something weirdly satisfying about timing a home run swing just right with that chunky SNES controller.
Fielding takes some getting used to—your outfielders move like they're running through molasses at first—but once you adjust, you start pulling off diving catches and double plays that feel legit. The graphics are bright and colorful in that classic Tecmo way, and the crowd noise actually gets louder when something big happens, which is a nice touch for the era. It's not the deepest baseball sim out there, but it's way more fun than it has any right to be.
