If you grew up with Astro Boy—or just love classic SNES action—Tetsuwan Atom is one of those games that feels like it was made with actual care. You’re not just running and punching robots (though that part’s great); you’re zipping through neon-lit cities, boosting into the air with rocket boots, and occasionally stopping to rescue civilians mid-battle. The controls are snappy, which helps when some of those later bosses decide to cheat.
What surprised me was how much personality they crammed into a 16-bit side-scroller. Atom’s little idle animations, the way enemies explode into gears—it’s got that Tezuka charm. And yeah, the arm cannon is stupidly satisfying to use. Just don’t expect a cakewalk; some of those platforming sections demand precision. Still holds up if you’re into retro action with heart.
