Game Overview

Ever played a game where you are the slime? The Ooze is one of those weird little Genesis gems that slipped under the radar—probably because, well, you spend the whole game as a sentient green blob. You start as a scientist who botches an experiment (classic) and melts into goo, then get flushed down a drain. Now you’ve gotta ooze your way back through sewers and labs to stop your evil boss.

It’s top-down, kinda like a grosser version of Snake—you slither around absorbing more ooze to grow bigger, shoving enemies into spikes or dissolving them with acid blobs. Some levels have puzzles where you squeeze through vents or split into smaller blobs to hit switches. The controls take a minute to get used to (you’re literally controlling liquid), but once it clicks, it’s oddly satisfying to blob your way through hazards. Just don’t lose too much ooze, or you’ll evaporate into a sad green stain.

Definitely not for everyone, but if you like bizarre ‘90s experiments, this one’s a trip.
