Thor: God of Thunder came out on the Nintendo DS in 2011, published by Sega. It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games that tried to capture the feel of the big screen on a handheld, using the dual screens and touch controls in ways that felt pretty standard for the time.
You control Thor, moving through levels from a side view, fighting frost giants and trolls with Mjolnir. The main goal is to stop Loki's plans across the Nine Realms. You use the touch screen to aim and throw your hammer at distant enemies, and you can also perform area-of-effect thunder slams by tapping icons. Between battles, you hunt for hidden runes to upgrade your strength and lightning abilities. The pacing is fairly straightforward, with a moderate difficulty that spikes during boss fights. It feels solid to swing the hammer and watch enemies fly back from the impact.
