Play Timecop Online
Punch your way through time with stiff digitized sprites, awkwardly missing most hits while the FBI voice clip drills into your skull. That jetpack finale over LA almost makes up for it.

Timecop came out on the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Cryo Interactive. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring digitized graphics and live-action movie licenses to the 16-bit era, a time when developers were really pushing what the hardware could do visually, even if the gameplay sometimes felt a little rough around the edges.
You control a time-traveling police officer, moving screen by screen through different eras to stop criminals from altering history. The main objective is to hunt down key targets in each level, using a combination of punches, kicks, and occasional firearms. Combat is the core of the experience, though landing hits can feel imprecise; you often find yourself mashing buttons hoping an attack connects. The levels are linear but filled with enemies that respawn quickly, which keeps the pressure high and makes progress feel tense. Navigating through time while managing limited health and dealing with repetitive, sometimes frustrating enemy patterns gives the whole thing a very specific, slightly clunky rhythm. It feels like a race against both the clock and the controls.
