Play Tintin in Tibet on Snes Online

You guide Tintin through snowy cliffs and temples, punching the occasional thug and hitching rides on yetis—it’s janky in that old-SNES way, but the pixel art and weird little details make it stick.

Game Overview

Tintin in Tibet came out on the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed and published by Infogrames. It was part of that wave of licensed games from the era, trying to capture the spirit of a beloved comic series in a 16-bit adventure. You don't see many games based on Tintin, so it always felt like a bit of a curiosity on the system.

You control Tintin, moving screen by screen through the Himalayan landscape. The main goal is to find your friend Chang, who has survived a plane crash in the mountains. You spend a lot of time exploring environments, talking to other characters for clues, and solving simple puzzles. The action is pretty basic, mostly jumping across gaps and punching the occasional enemy, like wolves or yetis. It's not a particularly difficult game, but the pacing can feel slow. The whole experience has a quiet, almost lonely feel to it, which actually fits the setting pretty well.
