I picked up Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Saves the Day on Game Boy Color back in 2001. It was developed by Warthog and published by Conspiracy Entertainment, one of those many licensed platformers that filled the handheld library at the time. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it's a straightforward side-scroller that leans into the show's humor and characters, fitting right in with other cartoon adaptations of the era.
You control Buster Bunny through a series of themed levels, each ending with a boss fight. Your main goal is to rescue your captured friends from Montana Max. Buster attacks by throwing different sports balls: baseballs explode on impact, soccer balls bounce with unpredictable physics, and footballs ricochet off surfaces. The levels are linear but packed with enemies and environmental hazards, requiring quick reflexes and smart use of your projectiles. The difficulty is moderate, with some tricky jumps and enemy placements that keep you alert. Playing it feels like guiding a chaotic cartoon episode from start to finish.
