Game Overview
Titus the Fox to Marrakech and Back is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that somehow sticks with you. You’re either Titus the fox or his cat buddy (I always picked the fox—felt more fitting), sneaking through markets and palaces to rescue your kidnapped love from a hilariously inept sultan. The guards are dumb as bricks, but they’ll still wreck you if you don’t think ahead.
It’s part puzzle, part platformer—like if someone mashed Donkey Kong barrels with stealth sections and crate-stacking shenanigans. Some levels have you disguising yourself as a mummy (yes, really), others make you time jumps just right to avoid rolling oil barrels. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once it clicks, you’ll be grinning at how clever some of the solutions are. Not gonna lie, a few screens had me stuck longer than I’d like to admit.
For a game hardly anyone remembers, it’s got way more charm and creativity than it had any right to. If you dig old-school platformers with a puzzle twist, this one’s a blast.
