Toe Jam & Earl is this weird, hilarious roguelike where you play as two alien rappers who crash-landed on Earth—which, according to them, is the least funky place imaginable. You wander around randomly generated islands, collecting pieces of your wrecked spaceship while dodging humans (who are all bizarrely hostile for some reason).
The whole thing feels like a fever dream—you’ll open presents that might give you rocket skates or turn you invisible, but sometimes they’ll just spawn a horde of angry nerds or sentient mailboxes. The music’s got this lazy, bass-heavy funk vibe that somehow makes getting chased by a giant ham sandwich feel perfectly normal.
