I picked up Tomb Raider: Anniversary on the PSP back in 2007, a portable version of the remake developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos. It was a solid release for the system, fitting right into that era where you could carry a full console-like adventure in your pocket, no compromises on the core exploration or atmosphere.

You control Lara Croft through a series of ancient tombs and hazardous ruins, solving environmental puzzles and fighting off wildlife and mythical guardians. The main goal is to recover pieces of the Scion artifact before your rivals do. Signature mechanics include methodical, screen-by-screen platforming with an emphasis on timing and observation, as well as acrobatic combat using dual pistols and other tools. The pacing is deliberate, often demanding patience as you figure out traversal routes or avoid deadly traps. It feels focused and immersive, pulling you into each isolated, beautifully crafted space.
