Top Gun: Firestorm for the Game Boy Color puts you in the cockpit of an F-14 Tomcat, but don’t expect a deep movie adaptation—it’s more like "Top Gun vibes with extra explosions." You’ve got twelve missions to blast through, mixing dogfights with bombing runs against ground targets. The isometric view feels a bit like the old Strike games, where you’re constantly weaving between enemy fire while trying to line up shots.
Maverick’s "training" mostly involves blowing things up with four weapon types—machine guns for strafing, bombs for bases, rockets for… well, everything. The mission briefings between levels are just static images with text, so the story’s basically an excuse to keep shooting. It’s not the most polished flight sim, but there’s something satisfying about nailing a tight rocket shot while dodging missiles. Just don’t expect to feel the need for speed.
