Toukiden Kiwami came out in 2014 for the PlayStation Portable, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. You control a Slayer, a warrior tasked with defending humanity from giant demons called Oni. Your main goal is to venture into battle zones, defeat these monsters, and purify the land they've corrupted. Key mechanics include severing specific Oni body parts to weaken them, absorbing Mitama spirits from fallen foes to unlock and combine passive skills, and coordinating with AI or human teammates for larger fights. The pacing is deliberate, with preparation and teamwork mattering as much as reflexes. It feels like a methodical, satisfying hunt where every victory is earned.
