Play Tower of Souls Online

You play as Treeac, a reluctant hero smacking skeletons and digging through your backpack for spells—every save file costs you gear, so you actually sweat over inventory choices. The lockpicking minigame’s weirdly addictive, and some doors won’t budge unless you burn the right potion.

Game Overview

Tower of Souls came out in 1995 for MS-DOS, published by Black Legend Ltd. It was one of those mid-90s dungeon crawlers that felt right at home on a clunky PC, with chunky sprites and a dark, moody atmosphere. You don't hear much about it these days, but it had its own quiet charm among the bigger names of the era.

You control a lone adventurer, delving deep into a monster-infested tower. Your goal is to climb each floor, fighting off skeletons and other creatures while hunting for keys and useful items. The game uses screen-by-screen exploration, with combat that relies on timing your sword swings or carefully aiming a bow. You also manage a limited inventory, deciding what to keep or drop since saving often costs you equipment. The pacing is slow and deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush ahead. It feels tense and methodical, like every decision could mean the difference between progress and starting over.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
