Toy Story Racer is that weird little racing game I used to play under the covers with my Game Boy Color’s dim backlight. You pick Woody, Buzz, or one of the other toys—each handles differently, and yeah, Hamm is as clunky as you’d expect a piggy bank to be—then race through Andy’s room, dodging Hot Wheels loops and Sid’s creepy mutant toys.
The tracks are full of little shortcuts and dumb power-ups (RC’s turbo boost is borderline unfair), and the physics are… well, let’s just say you’ll spend half the time bouncing off walls. But that’s part of the charm. It’s janky, colorful, and feels like someone dumped your toy box onto a race track. The music’s got that tinny GBC sound, but the Toy Story theme still hits.
Not gonna lie, it’s not Mario Kart. But if you ever wanted to see Rex the dinosaur wobble his way to victory, this is your game.
