Play Trauma Center - Under The Knife (E) Online
Perform surgeries as rookie surgeon Derek Stiles, using the DS stylus to make incisions, suture wounds, and save patients while racing against time in Trauma Center - Under The Knife.
Trauma Center: Under the Knife came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed and published by Atlus. It was one of those games that really leaned into what the DS could do, especially the touch screen, at a time when developers were still figuring out how to make the most of the hardware. It stood out because it wasn't about platforming or RPGs; it was a medical drama that turned surgery into something frantic and immediate.
You play as Derek Stiles, a rookie surgeon who gains a healing touch called the Healing Touch, and you perform operations by using the stylus like a set of medical tools. You make incisions, drain abscesses, suture wounds, and apply antibiotic gel, all while monitoring the patient's vitals. The game introduces unique obstacles, like malignant tumors that regrow if not fully removed, and later, bio-terrorism agents called GUILT that behave like puzzles, requiring specific steps to neutralize. The pacing is deliberately stressful; patients can crash suddenly, and the difficulty ramps up sharply, demanding precision and quick thinking under pressure. It feels like a high-stakes race against time where every second and every movement counts.
